The Opportunity: General Manager

The General Manager will assume overall leadership for a building materials site, driving operational improvements and leading all activities. This pivotal role puts you at the center of an opportunity to develop and execute strategies to increase profitability, enhance process discipline, and improve sales performance. You will directly oversee all sales team members, establish best practices, and instill a culture of accountability across the entire location. Additional responsibilities include full P&L ownership, safety, policy/procedure development, and direct management of product distribution to dealers. The role is highly visible, with executive support and clear targets for revenue and EBITDA transformation. This is an opportunity built for impact. You’ll lead a stable, tenured team through a well-supported turnaround, gaining recognition for driving tangible improvement. Key Qualifications & Success Factors

  • Demonstrated success leading distribution teams in building products, with proven ability to transform underperforming operations.
  • Strong leadership presence, able to coach, develop, and retain high-performing talent across sales and operations.
  • Deep P&L expertise and operational rigor, able to implement and enforce best practices, policies, and measurable KPIs.
  • 5+ years’ experience in LBM, one-step or two-step distribution, within companies of at least $50M in revenue.
  • Proven capacity to build trust at all levels, drive top-line and margin gains, and adapt quickly in fast-paced, turnaround settings; bonus for Lean Six Sigma.
