The Opportunity

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will drive new business growth and market leadership within your assigned territory, operating as a high-impact individual contributor focused on acquiring and retaining valuable customers. You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to shape territory strategy while serving as a trusted advisor to customers and colleagues alike.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying, pursuing, and securing new customer opportunities across your assigned territory through disciplined prospecting, cold calling, and follow-up on sales leads
  • Selling a comprehensive portfolio of building products to contractors, builders, and commercial customers
  • Building and sustaining strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients while strategically growing your book of new business
  • Conducting high-impact in-person sales calls, jobsite visits, product presentations, and customer meetings to uncover needs and deliver value-based solutions
  • Partnering with branch leadership, operations, and customer support to ensure seamless onboarding and exceptional service
  • Utilizing sales data, market trends, and CRM tools to identify opportunities, maintain pipeline visibility, and forecast accurately
  • Monitoring competitive dynamics and industry conditions to proactively identify growth opportunities

What You Will Need to Be Successful

  • Proven outside sales or business development experience, ideally within construction, building materials, wholesale distribution, or a related industry
  • A consistent track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and new customer acquisition goals in competitive markets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels, from jobsite to executive
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • High proficiency with CRM platforms, digital sales tools, and mobile technology
