THE BUSINESS

Our client is a well-established, multi-regional independent building materials supplier with a strong reputation for product quality, customer service, and operational excellence. The organization serves a diverse customer base across residential and commercial construction, partnering with builders, remodelers, installers, and subcontractors to deliver specialized building material solutions.

The Cleveland branch operates from a newly updated facility and generates approximately $15 million in annual revenue. The broader organization is known for its collaborative leadership culture, where branch managers regularly share best practices and operational insights to continuously improve performance across the network.

With a focus on long-term customer relationships and operational efficiency, the company continues to grow through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions while maintaining the agility and family-oriented culture of an independent business.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Manager, you will lead the full performance of this Ohio location with ownership of sales growth, operational execution, customer experience, and financial performance. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for managing the branch as a true business unit, with full P&L accountability and autonomy to drive results.

You will oversee a team of approximately 10–15 employees across sales, operations, and customer service while ensuring the location operates efficiently and delivers exceptional service to its customer base.

This role requires a builder mentality, someone who understands how sales, operations, inventory, and customer relationships intersect to drive profitable growth. You will work closely with both customers and internal teams to ensure the branch delivers responsive service, accurate order fulfillment, and efficient turnaround on customized or made-to-order building materials.

Managers and other leaders within the organization operate collaboratively, regularly engaging with peers across other locations to share ideas, refine processes, and implement best practices that improve performance company-wide.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Experience in building materials, ideally serving installers, subcontractors, or construction professionals

• Proven people leadership with the ability to attract, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing team

• Customer-centric mindset with the ability to build strong relationships and partner with customers as an extension of their business

• Financial and business acumen with a clear understanding of the activities that impact branch performance and P&L

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and operational initiatives from planning through execution
